PRO2 RD stresses preparation, pre-emptive evacuation as key to having “zero casualty”
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 in partnership with Cherry Mobile Telecom and a group of young professionals who requested for anonymity conducted relief operations in barangays Redondo and Sta Barbara, Iguig, Cagayan this morning, November 21, 2020.
During the activity which was led by PBGEN CRIZALDO NIEVES, PRO2 Regional Director and his wife MRS. IMELDA NIEVES, 500 packs of relief goods were handed out to the families in barangay Redondo while some 313 packs were distributed to the constituents of barangay Sta Barbara in the same municipality.
The Regional Health Service 2 led by PLTCOL JONARD DE GUZMAN and PMAJ RAGEHY HOPE PULAN also provided free medical consultation and gave medicines and multivitamins to the residents.
RD NIEVES expressed his gratitude to Cherry Mobile Telecom, PRO3 and other private individuals for their contribution in the continuing relief operations of PRO2.
On the other hand, PBGen NIEVES explained during his short dialogue with the residents of said barangays that preparation is very important and advisories on typhoons must never be disregarded by the people. “Your police are doing their best to make our community safer that is why we continuously give reminders to our people through our “Oplan Tambuli” and barangay visitations before the onslaught of calamities in our desire to have a zero casualty. But people must cooperate and do their part for their safety,” RD NIEVES emphasized.
Meanwhile, more trucks of relief goods from PRO3 and Northern Police District are set to be distributed to the victims of the said typhoon in Cagayan and Isabela provinces.
