RD NIEVES: “I’m proud of what the Valley Cops are doing”

CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- In an awarding ceremony at Police Regional Office 2 this morning, November 16, 2020, the PRO2 leadership accorded appropriate recognition to PNP personnel who displayed acts of bravery and selfless service in the aftermath of Typhoon Ulysses in Region 2.

Medalya ng Kadakilaan (PNP Heroism Medal) was awarded to Patrolman Jayrick Talosig of Ilagan City Police Station for his act of bravery displayed on rescuing SK Chairman Arnel Talaue and John Llyod Calatayud who were swept by rushing floodwaters to the deep portion of corn field in Brgy. Marana, Ilagan City while trying to cross the water despite having been warned by the police officer not to proceed as the current was strong.

On the other hand, Medalya ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) was awarded to Patrolman Brayan Bangayan of PRO2 headquarters for rescuing and assisting a still unidentified pregnant woman in the floodwaters on November 14, 2020.

In his message, PRO2 Regional Director PBGEN Crizaldo O Nieves lauded the awardees and extended his gratitude to all PRO2 personnel for their untiring efforts in the search, rescue and relief operations in the past days.

“I am proud of what the Valley Cops are doing to help alleviate the sufferings of the typhoon victims. Let us continue to give our best to ensure that no further harm will be experienced by our people because of this disaster,” PBGEN Nieves added. 

As of this writing, continuous relief operations are still on-going in the different isolated barangays and municipalities in the Provinces of Cagayan and Isabela.
