Chief PNP visits Cagayan in aftermath of Typhoon Ulysses, sends help for disaster operations
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- PNP Chief, PGEN DEBOLD M SINAS flew to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Saturday afternoon, November 14, 2020 to assess the extent of damage for relief operations in the typhoon-ravaged areas of the City and other municipalities in Region 2.
In his dialogue with key officers of Police Regional Office 2 headed by PBGEN CRIZALDO NIEVES, PRO2 Regional Director upon his arrival at PRO2 Headquarters, PGEN SINAS assured the PNP’s full support to the disaster operations in the region. The CPNP announced that he is sending relief goods and equipment to aid PRO2 in its operations. He added that aside from the logistical support, the PNP NHQ will extend assistance to the more than 700 PRO2 personnel who were affected by the typhoon. “The PNP will continue to send help to the affected families for them to get through this difficult time,” PGEN SINAS said.
RD NIEVES expressed his gratitude to the Chief PNP for the all-out support he extended to PRO2 and the affected families of Cagayan province. Aside from the relief goods and logistical support, PGEN SINAS gave Php 5,000.00 each to PRO2 personnel whose houses were flooded.
Meanwhile, the Chief PNP laid out his priorities which are in accordance to the guidance of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the command conference at Police Regional Office 2. PGEN SINAS mentioned that his leadership will focus on the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign, anti-corruption, anti-terrorism, anti-insurgency and anti-illegal gambling efforts.
He ordered the revitalization of the different PNP drug enforcement units to focus their operations against “high-value targets/individuals.”
The Chief PNP also emphasized that the “no take policy” on all forms of illegal activities will be strictly enforced among all PNP personnel. PGEN SINAS also vowed to further strengthen the PNP disciplinary mechanism and penalize all erring police personnel who defy his order. “We will continue to religiously enforce and honestly the ‘No-Take Policy’ on illegal funds from drug lords, gambling lords and other illegal sources,” he stressed.
