PRO2 and CIDG2 arrested 3 individuals for illegal Possession of Firearms and Explosives
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 and Criminal Investigation and Detective Group 2 arrested Three (3) individuals for illegal possession of Firearms and Explosives during the conduct of Police Operation in Enrile, Cagayan yesterday October 3, 2019.
PRO2 Regional Director PBGEN JOSE MARIO M ESPINO in his report to PNP Chief, PGEN OSCAR DAVID ALBAYALDE identified the arrested suspects as Jorge Matalig y Maunay, 40 years old, married, construction worker and a resident of Brgy. Annafunan East, Tuguegarao, City, Cagayan; Franklin Alvarez y Elopre, 34 years old, single, businessman and a resident of Brgy. San Gabriel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and Reynante Alvarez y Calubaquib, 47 years old, driver and a resident of Brgy. Cagumitan, Tuao West, Cagayan.
Investigation disclosed that at about 5:00 PM of same date in Brgy. 2, Enrile, Cagayan, joint personnel of Enrile Police Station, CIDG CAGAYAN, RMFB 2 and 1st PMFC CAGAYAN established checkpoint in Brgy. 2, Enrile, Cagayan to act in the information received that the suspect Jorge Matalig y Maunay with standing warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery was on board in a black Hyundai Accent bearing plate no. TIX 901 will be passing in the said area and transporting assorted high powered firearms. The police was able to flag down the subject vehicle which resulted in the arrest of the suspects and confiscation of the following pieces of evidence: one (1) pc cal.45 pistol without make and bearing serial no.1551160 and magazine loaded with seven live ammos; one (1) pc m16 Armalite rifle (colt AR15) with SN 627523; one (1) pc cal.45 pistol, Armscor with SN 1335687 and magazine loaded with 7 live ammos; two (2) pcs rifle grenade; one (1) pc 9mm Taurus with SN TKW 92931 and 2 magazine loaded with 22 live ammos; 36 live ammos for cal.45 pistol; one (1) pc knife; two (2) pcs long magazine for m16 rifle; two (2) pcs short magazines for m16 rifle; one (1) pc hand grenade; 90 pcs live ammos for m16; one (1) pc magazine for cal.45 (extended); and one (1) pc cherry mobile cellular phone. Likewise, pieces of evidence were confiscated from the suspects for failure to present any legal documents.
Inventory and marking of the pieces of evidence was done in the place of operation and witnessed by the arrested suspects, media representative and Brgy. Officials. After the conduct of inventory, the arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were immediately brought to Enrile PS for documentation and proper disposition.
Cases for Violation of RA 10591 and RA 9516 are being prepared for filing against the said suspects.
