PRO2 joins our Muslim Brothers in the Observance of Eid al-Adha 2019

CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 under the leadership of Regional Director PBGEN JOSE MARIO M ESPINO joins in the commemoration of Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) of our brothers and sisters in the Muslim Community today, August 12, 2019.

Cagayan PPO provided security and assistance to the more or less 1,000 Muslim brothers from the different municipalities of Cagayan who have gathered in Tuguegarao City to commemorate the said festivities.

All other Police Provincial Offices, City Police Office and Police Stations provided area security and established police assistance desk in all Mosques and venues where our brother and sisters commemorate the feast of Sacrifice and initiated the hanging of tarpaulin in front of their stations to show support that bespeaks of our oneness in observing the solemnity of the occasion.

PRO2 personnel also conducted checkpoints and inspections before, during and after the occasion to prevent any untoward incidents that will disturb the observance of said festivities.

RD ESPINO directed All Police Stations with Muslim Communities in their Area of Responsibility to continuously conduct dialogues and coordination with the Muslim leaders in order to have a peaceful and orderly commemoration. “This is the least we can do for our muslim brothers and sisters for them to have peaceful commemoration of Eid al-adha” RD ESPINO added.

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe this event and in the Philippines, which start in the evening of Sunday August 11 and ends in the evening of Monday August 12.
