Conduct of Midterm National and Local Elections 2019 in Cagayan Valley, relatively peaceful
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- The Midterm National and Local Elections 2019 in Cagayan Valley were relatively peaceful despite of some reports of alleged vote-buying, simple commotions among candidates and supporters, and other related incidents.
PRO2 Regional Director PBGEN JOSE MARIO M ESPINO said that the conduct of the election in Cagayan Valley is considered relatively peaceful although there were recorded some violations on Election Gun Ban, Liquor Ban, Vote Buying in different places in Region 2 and burning of two (2) counting machines in Jones, Isabela.
RD ESPINO said that the peaceful conduct of elections was attributed to the early security preparations conducted by the Regional Joint Security Control Center 2 (RJSCC2) and the AFP and PRO2’s massive information drive for a secure and safe National Midterm and Local Elections.
More than a week before the Election Day, RD ESPINO and MGEN PABLO M LORENZO, AFP Commander 5th ID PA have ordered the deployment of enough number of PNP and AFP personnel to provide security to the designated polling areas in different barangays in Cagayan Valley Region.
Meanwhile, during the Termination of Election Duties for the 2019 Midterm Elections held today, May 16, 2019 at the PRO2 Grandstand, RD ESPINO congratulated the joint AFP-PNP troops for a job well done. He also imparted the message of the Chief, PNP, POLICE GENERAL OSCAR DAVID ALBAYALDE.
