Region 2’s Most Wanted Person nabbed after 23 years of hiding

   CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY.- After more than two decades of hiding, Region 2’s most wanted person for the crime of Murder finally fell in the hands of police authorities in Rosa Flor Subdivision, Tagapo, Santa Rosa, Laguna this morning.

 The suspect was identified as Romulo Guimmayen, 52 years old and a native of Sta. Filomena, Abulug, Cagayan.

  According to the Investigator-on-Case, the suspect and the victim were having a drinking spree some time in 1998 when a heated argument ensued between them. Guimmayen then stabbed the victim Fernando Andres, a relative of the suspect and also a resident of Sta. Filomena, Abulug, Cagayan. After the commission of the crime, the suspect fled and went into hiding. The victim succumbed to the fatal wound inflicted by the suspect.

   Further investigation disclosed that the two opposing parties had a land dispute.

   Joint operatives of Provincial Intelligence Unit and Ballesteros Police Station arrested the accused by virtue of Alias Warrant of Arrest issued by Judge Nathaniel Patugalan of Regional Trial Court Branch 33, Ballesteros, Cagayan on December 3, 1998.

  The accused was brought to Ballesteros Police Station for documentation prior to his turn-over to the said court for appropriate disposition.
