LGU Employee Caught in Drug Buy Bust
CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY – A local government employee of LGU Abulug, Cagayan is in hot water after having caught red-handed in a successful drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Centro East, Ballesteros, Cagayan yesterday.
Jan Keneeson Bugaring, LGU employee of Abulug, Cagayan, a PDEA-HVI listed drug personality and a resident of Centro, Abulug, Cagayan was arrested by elements of Philippine Intelligence Unit (PIU)/ Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Cagayan PPO, PDEA Batanes and Ballesteros Police Station on April 27, 2021 at about 1:15 PM in Centro East, Ballesteros, Cagayan.
The police and PDEA operatives confiscated from Bugaring a heat-sealed transparent sachet containing suspected Shabu and the Php1,000.00 bill used as buy bust money.
On the other hand, at about 4:40 PM of same date, John Mathew Recierdo, 21 years old, HVI Priority List, a native of Lipa, Batangas and a resident of Brgy. Apanay, Alicia, Isabela was arrested jointly by personnel of Cabatuan Police Station, Isabela Police Provincial Office, PPO-PDEU and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 2 (RDEU2) in La Paz, Cabatuan, Isabela.
Confiscated from the possession of Recierdo were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected Shabu; 12 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected dried Marijuana leaves; one unit caliber 38 pistol loaded with four live ammo; one genuine Php1,000.00 bill; and four pieces Php1,000.00 bills (boodle money).
Both suspects are placed under the temporary custody of the concerned police stations for the filing of cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against them with another case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act being filed against Recierdo.
