PRO2 implements gun ban; 2 violators arrested
CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 in its mandate in securing a fair and safe National Elections on May 13, 2019, two (2) individuals were arrested for the violation of the Omnibus Election Code yesterday, January 13, 2019.
PRO2 Regional Director PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO in his report to Camp Crame said that at about 11:00 PM on January 13, 2019 at Pengue-Ruyu, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, personnel of Tuguegarao City PS arrested Nestor Acosta Sawit, 58 years old, married, security guard and a resident of Brgy. Victoria, San Mateo, Isabela and presently residing at Pengue-Ruyu, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan for the crime of Alarms and Scandal, Grave Threat and Violation of Omnibus Election Code. Prior to the incident, the suspect and victim had a drinking session at the said place. An argument ensued and the suspect deliberately fired once his cal.38 revolver pistol in the air and after which, the suspect leveled the said firearm to the victim Jonathan Balligui Servas, 39 years old, single, security guard of Hyundai and a resident of District 2, Cauayan City, Isabela. Personnel of Tuguegarap City PS while conducting mobile patrol along Maharlika Highway, Pengue-Ruyu, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan heard a gun burst from said place and from there, the victim went out from the place and asked Police assistance to the said officers. After conducting initial investigation, the suspect voluntarily surrendered to include his firearm and subsequently brought to Tuguegarao PS for proper disposition and further investigation.
On the other hand at about 3:30 PM of same date at Brgy. San Jose, San Mariano, Isabela, Esteban Lozano Pascua 53 years old, farmer and a resident at the said place was arrested by San Mariano PS and 2nd platoon IPMFC for the crime of Frustrated Homicide and Violation of Omnibus Election Code. Police report reveals that the victim Jery Flores Manalastas Sr. 46 years old, married and a farmer together with his family including the suspect had just arrived from a picnic. When they reached near the house of the victim, the suspect who was intoxicated suddenly drew a cal.45 pistol and fired upward, after which he pointed same to the victim and shot him once hitting his left thigh and also hit the son of the victim Jerry Manalastas Jr. 4 years old of the same bullet. Victims sustained gunshot wounds and brought to San Mariano Hospital for treatment.
RD ESPINO commended the operating personnel for the successful conduct of police operations.
