PRO2 conducts simultaneous COMELEC Checkpoint, Unity Walk, Interfaith Prayer Rally and Signing of Peace Covenant
CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 and the Commission on Election (COMELEC) in its quest for a Fair and Safe Midterm Election on May 13, 2019, conducted inspection on the simultaneous COMELEC checkpoint at 12 midnight as well as joined the conduct of Unity Walk, Interfaith Prayer Rally and Signing of Peace Covenant at 4:00 AM, today, January 13, 2019.
Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PCSUPT JOHN CORNELIUS A JAMBORA spearheaded the inspection on the conduct of COMELEC Checkpoint in Tuguegarao City in the presence of media. PCSUPT JAMBORA was accompanied by Atty. Manuel Castillo Jr, Cagayan Provincial Election Supervisor and PSSUPT IGNACIO R CUMIGAD, Acting Provincial Director of Cagayan PPO in the said inspection.
Following the simultaneous COMELEC Checkpoint, PRO2 personnel led by PSSUPT DOMINGO R LUCAS, Deputy Regional Director for Operations joined the Unity Walk, Interfaith Prayer Rally and Signing of Peace Covenant held at Rizal’s Park Tuguegarao City.
The said unity walk started at the Cagayan Sports Complex, Tuguegarao City passing through “Kalye Komersyo” going to Rizal’s Park with PRO2-RHQ Contingent taking the lead then Cagayan PPO Contingent passing through Mabini St., Tuguegarao City going to Rizal’s Park while the Interfaith Prayer Rally and Signing of Peace Covenant were participated by Political Candidates in the Province of Cagayan.
The program was a joint initiative of COMELEC/PRO2-PNP/AFP to implement aggressive police operations in relation to 2019 Midterm election to ensure a Free, Orderly, Honest, Peaceful and Credible Election. Also in attendance during the program were Dir. Atty. Ederlino U Tabilas, RD COMELEC 2, Dir. Jonathan Paul M Leusen, RD, DILG 2, Lt. Col. Camilo Saddam-AFP, Bureau of Fire, Commission on Higher Education, National Polcie Commisson, different Religious Sectors, Political Candidates including BPATS and other Non-Government Organizations.
RD PRO2, PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO in his message which was delivered by PSSUPT CUMIGAD to wit: “Let this be a rallying call not only for all the leaders but also for all of us. Let us put our acts together for the achievement of our common goal- PEACE”.
