Barangay Kagawad arrested for violation of RA 10591

 CAMP MARCELO A ADDURU, TUGUEGARAO CITY- Police Regional Office 2 in its enforcement against loose firearms, arrested one (1) individual in police operations in Cagayan province yesterday, January 06, 2018.

 Arrested individual was identified as Oliver Torreno Lucero, 31 years old, single, Barangay Kagawad and a resident of Barangay Afunan, Camalaniugan, Cagayan.

 Cagayan PPO Provincial Director PSSUPT WARREN GASPAR A TOLITO in his report to PRO2 Regional Director PCSUPT JOSE MARIO M ESPINO said that at about 3:00 AM of the same date, personnel of Camalaniugan PS received a report thru phone call from a concerned citizen informing that a male person at the "Mamihan sa junction" in Barangay Bulala, Camalaniugan wearing black jacket had in possession of a short firearm. Immediately, upon receipt of the report, responding personnel proceeded to the given location to check the veracity of the report and upon arrival thereat, responding team noticed two male persons at said place wherein one of which is wearing black jacket sitting in a monoblock chair seems to be drunk with head bowed on the table which prompted them to approach the said male person and instructed him to stand up which the suspect also acceded. From there, responding elements saw a handle of a short firearm tucked on the suspect’s waist. The police asked for the legal documents of the gun and the license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) of the suspect but the latter failed to present which prompted the police to arrest him. Confiscated from the direct possession and control of the suspect was one (1) ARMSCOR M 1911-A1FS caliber 45 pistol and three (3) pcs magazine loaded with eight (8) live ammunition in each magazines. Arrested suspect to include the confiscated items are now under the custody of Camalaniugan PS for proper disposition.

 A case for violation of RA 10591 is being prepared for the suspect.

 RD ESPINO commended the operating teams for their hard work that led to the said accomplishments.
